Pastor Ben, Kristin, and Julia Bravard Pastor Ben Bravard and his wife Kristin are the founding pastors of House of Freedom - Ames. Their desire is to not only see this generation come to Christ, but to see this generation desperately pursue a life of passion, purpose, and freedom in Christ. The Bravards were serving in the Open Bible Church in Boone, IA when they felt the call to step out and begin a college ministry. As they were preparing for this call, Ben’s 21-year-old brother, Joe, and two of his friends, passed away in an automobile accident. This tragedy paralyzed an entire community and the burden for this generation grew in the hearts’ of the Bravards. Out of this tragedy, the college ministry, A Party With A Purpose (APWAP), was birthed. Due to the growth of APWAP, the ministry expanded to become its own church, House of Freedom, and settled in the west Ames area. Pastor Ben graduated from Boone High School in 1996. He attended Iowa State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Accounting. While attending Iowa State, Ben and Kristin were married on November 20, 1999. He also has his Masters degree from Drake University with a major in Education. Pastor Ben is a credentialed pastor with Open Bible Churches. Pastor Ben and Kristin have a four year-old daughter, Julia.
